Since the Kickstarter success of the OUYA, it is no surprise to see more people trying Android for TV. The Wise device will come in three models, a $59 Set-top box, a $79 Portable Flash Drive-like stick, and an $89 Camera enabled unit. The Camera enabled unit is something new for Android-TV peripherals, imagine Skype chatting on your 42” HD TV.
The Unit will launch with Android 4.2(Jelly Bean), and will have access to Google Play. All of the apps, movies, and TV shows you have access to on your favorite device should be available on the TIVI. They haven’t said whether or not you will have access to third-party app stores like SlideME or Amazon.
The TIVI specs are;
- 1.6GHz Cortex-A9 Dual Core Processor with a quad-core Mali-400 MP Graphics Processor
- 1GB of Ram
- 4GB of Internal Storage(Upgradable to 16GB)
- 1 Micro-USB port
- 1 full sized USB Port
- TF Card Slot(Up to 16GB)
- HDMI connector to connect to HD TV
- Set Top Box has RGB connection
Although it is unclear what will come in the box with the device, the TIVI will be compatible with some accessories. There will be a first-party controller available as well as an “air” mouse/keyboard combination for controls and navigation.
